One of the nice things about Jerusalem is that there are many interesting faces.

Jerusalem is 31° north of the Equator, which puts it more or less level with New Orleans and Shanghai.

It's about 30 miles (50 kilometres) east of the Mediterranean as the crow flies.

It's 2,500 feet (750 metres) above sea level, which means it gets colder in winter than a lot of people expect.
